Gaining Ground Across Developmental Domains

When Zara, a 3-year-old with global developmental delays, joined our Early Intervention Program, she faced challenges in several areas including delayed speech, weak fine motor skills, and difficulty with joint attention and daily routines.

With a carefully designed Individualised Education Plan (IEP) and the support of our transdisciplinary team, Zara began making steady progress. Through regular Speech Therapy sessions, she learned to make simple requests using sign language and eventually started speaking in short phrases. At the same time, her motor

coordination improved as she participated in engaging tasks such as stringing beads and stacking blocks, supported by her Occupational Therapist.

Zara now confidently joins group activities, follows simple instructions, and maintains eye contact during interactions. Her ability to transition smoothly between activities and complete tasks with minimal prompts reflects her growing independence and self-assurance.

Zara’s journey shows how early and holistic support can make a meaningful difference in a child’s development during the critical early years.
